The first call for proposals for the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) regular access mode is open. Researchers from academia, research institutes, public authorities, and industry established or located in an EU Member State or in a country associated with Horizon 2020 can now apply and access the EuroHPC pre-exascale and petascale supercomputers.
The computing resources of the EuroHPC JU are now available to support large-scale European projects with important needs in terms of compute time, data storage, and support resources. The call is open to all fields of science, industry, and the public sector. The projects should be designed to enable progress and innovation in their respective domains. The computer systems that will undertake the operations for the projects chosen for this regular access call are: Vega in Slovenia, MeluXina in Luxembourg, Discoverer in Bulgaria, Karolina in the Czech Republic, and LUMI in Finland.
The call is continuously open with pre-defined cut-off dates (three per year) that will trigger the evaluation of the proposals submitted up to this date. The first cut-off date is Friday 3 December 2021, 10:00 AM CET. The next indicative cut-off dates for proposals are:
- 4 March 2022 – 10:00 AM CET
- 1 July 2022 – 10:00 AM CET
- 7 October 2022 – 10:00 AM CET
The allocations will be granted for one year with the option for projects to apply for a continuation. This continuation shall be duly justified, limited to a maximum of one additional year, and will depend on an assessment of their ongoing awarded project.
